Spain Won at FIFA. So Did Ghost Kits & Starting Eleven

The FIFA World Cup is the premier international men's association football (soccer) championship. The Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) organizes it every four years.  The tournament brings together national teams from around the globe to compete for the title of world champion.

Spain won the FIFA World Cup 2026™, the first time the tournament featured 48 teams and three host countries: Canada, Mexico, and the United States.

Starting Eleven, the leading soccer-specific production agency in the United States, was hired by FIFA to deliver authentic stories and showcase championship play. Challenged by inconsistent connectivity and WiFi across all 16 stadiums, they turned to Ghost Kits for the fastest way to upload footage from sports venues across three countries.

To meet the volume and timeline, Ghost Kits’ team built 17 new units specifically for the World Cup. Each Ghost Kits device hardware subcomponent carries individual FCC certifications, meeting the compliance standards required for professional broadcast. The device supports all major WiFi-enabled camera models, enabling real-time transmission of high-resolution media from the stadium venue directly to post-production teams and remote editors.

Ghost Kits' technology lets cameras connect to any available WiFi network. It supports open-SIM capability across 600+ cellular providers globally, and Smart Network Switching automatically steers to the optimal network when performance degrades, with no manual intervention required. That’s why Starting Eleven selected Ghost Kits to keep the data flowing from the field to final delivery.

The kits provided exactly what was needed: real-world international 5G performance data that fed directly into Ghost Kits' network-switching algorithm across 16 stadiums in 3 countries—completing 104 events over the course of the tournament. Starting Eleven also won, delivering compelling content to FIFA promptly, highlighting action-packed footage.

Live sports production demands seamless coordination under intense pressure. Content producers must turn unpredictable, fast-paced action into an engaging viewing experience across multiple platforms—all in real time. That’s why Ghost Kits delivers the optimal solution for production teams that rely on consistent, safe, and reliable connectivity.

Ghost Kits Saves the Day at NAB

Held annually in Las Vegas, Nevada, NAB is the world's largest media, entertainment, and technology conference, with over 60,000 professionals convened to explore next-generation broadcast workflows. Major technology leaders showcase broadcast solutions, including Adobe, AWS, Blackmagic, Google, Microsoft, Sony, and Ross Video.

With technology running throughout the event, the convention center is notorious for lousy WiFi, which can disrupt high-volume productions and tight deadlines. Wanting to capture on-the-floor experiences, Adobe tapped multimedia company CA in LA to document the show.

CA in LA, dedicated to bringing its technical mastery and artist vision to every project, had to film, edit, and deliver four videos per day. They quickly discovered that uploading even the smallest compressed reel on convention WiFi was painfully slow.

With firsthand experience creating videos in challenging locations, Shawn McDaniel, Senior Creative Producer at Frame.io, Adobe, introduced CA in LA to Ghost Kits to help them get reliable connectivity on the congested convention center.

Ghost Kits solves a critical bottleneck in photography and videography workflows: a reliable internet connection. Utilizing the Ghost Kits lightweight Specter device, CA in LA was able

to solve their connectivity issues immediately on the show floor.

Using the Ghost Kits Specter attached to the video camera immediately improved on-site upload and download speeds.

“It was amazing how easy it was using Ghost Kits; it increased our upload and download speeds, which were fast, smooth, and consistent, said Courtney Birk, founder of CA in LA.

By Day 2 of the convention, we were able to create even more fun and creative edits with the time we saved by streamlining our video uploads using Ghost Kits.”

With the time they saved using Ghost Kits, CA in LA had more time to get creative with their edits. Ghost Kits delivered exactly what a production like this needs: strong, reliable connectivity when the network around you is anything but.

“We are live broadcasters on Twitch, and live streaming is incredibly important to our livelihood and career. We have a weekly show, The Cinema Collective, on YouTube with Adobe Live, said Ashleigh Coffelt, founder of CA in LA.  “Being on the road, we broadcast our show for NAB from our hotel room. Thank goodness for Ghost Kits, which kept our live broadcast smooth without any drops, something that absolutely wouldn’t have happened with hotel WiFi. We highly recommend Ghost Kits to live streamers and anyone traveling, dealing with unstable hotel WiFi.”

Ghost Kits is ideal for remote settings when WiFi is questionable, or when you're on the road trying to work off inconsistent hotel WiFi. Now creatives have more time to work on projects instead of waiting on media.

Specter delivers consistent, secure connectivity at the camera level across film, television, broadcast, and live production environments, even in remote or signal-constrained conditions.

  • Faster, smoother, and more consistent upload and download speeds

  • Enabled filming, editing, and delivery of 4 videos per day
