Ghost Kits Expands Specter Capabilities with Smart Network Switching, Network Bonding, and Next-Generation 5G Speeds

New features bring patent-pending intelligent network management, multi-carrier global access, and enhanced camera-to-cloud workflows to production teams worldwide.

Los Angeles, April 9, 2026 - Ghost Kits Inc., a media technology company that solves a critical bottleneck in modern photography and videography workflows: a reliable internet connection, today announced a major set of capability updates to Ghost Kits Specter, its patent-pending, purpose-built, wireless device for media production. Specter works with all major Wi-Fi-enabled camera models and enables instant, reliable media transfer from camera to post-production, remote editors, and agencies — anywhere in the world. The new features — Smart Network Switching, Network Bonding, and 5G/Wi-Fi 6E support — deepen Specter's ability to deliver consistent, secure connectivity at the camera level across film, television, broadcast, and live production environments, even in remote or signal-constrained conditions..

“We’re so excited to be at NAB this year to show off our new hardware design and updated software, including our patent-pending Smart Network Switching,” said Casper Hanney, CEO and Co-Founder, Ghost Kits. “We are building off of last year, in which we successfully demonstrated our camera-to-cloud workflows using Frame.io, and this year, we are showing off our new feature set with more to come in the immediate future.”

Smart Network Switching

Specter's new patent-pending Smart Network Switching automatically steers to the optimal cellular network the moment performance degrades — eliminating the manual SIM swapping required by traditional hotspots. Multi-IMSI technology delivers seamless access to over 600 mobile carriers across more than 190 countries without any user intervention, bringing enterprise-grade reliability to productions anywhere in the world.

Smart Network Switching is protected by a non-provisional patent filed in 2025, establishing Specter as a technically defensible and commercially differentiated platform in the production connectivity space.

Network Bonding

Specter now aggregates multiple network interfaces — cellular, Wi-Fi, and Ethernet — into a single high-performance logical connection. This delivers simultaneously increased bandwidth, active redundancy, and fault tolerance across concurrent connections. Where local Wi-Fi is available, the system intelligently combines it with cellular to maximize throughput while reducing data costs. Ghost Kits' network bonding services operate on an international server-hosting architecture for consistent global performance.

5G Architecture and Wi-Fi 6E Support

Specter's updated 5G architecture delivers theoretical upload speeds of up to 900 Mbps — approximately 18 times faster than its 4G predecessor — representing a generational leap for on-set media workflows. Full Wi-Fi 6E support across the 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz bands simultaneously eliminates the bandwidth bottlenecks that have long constrained high-resolution media transmission in dense production environments, compressing workflows that once took hours into minutes.

Hardware Enhancements

Specter's hardware is built for professional production — flexible, powerful, and set-ready. New features include tripod mountability in addition to camera mounts, and V-mount compatibility with five industry-standard ¼-20 screw inlays.

Ports & Power

  • Ethernet, dual USB-C (power + passthrough charging)

  • Hot-swappable NP-F lithium-ion battery

  • Power switch

Wi-Fi 6E

  • Tri-band 2x2 MIMO (802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax)

  • 574 Mbps @ 2.4GHz · 1.2 Gbps @ 5/6GHz

Cellular

  • 5G NR SA, global frequency band support

  • 2.4 Gbps download · 900 Mbps upload*

Mounting

  • Supports industry standard ¼”-20 mounting hardware to maximize flexibility and stability

*Dependent on available networks

All Specter hardware subcomponents carry individual FCC certifications, meeting the compliance standards required for professional broadcast and enterprise deployment. The device supports all major Wi-Fi-enabled camera models, enabling real-time transmission of high-resolution media from any set or venue directly to post-production teams, remote editors, and agencies.

Ghost Kits will be at NAB 2026, Booth N967 in the North Hall.
